Kate the writer

Kate fills all of her day, every day with worthwhile activity. She has an avid thirst for knowledge and is addicted to books on ALL subjects. Whatever she sets her mind to she should, with her obvious gifts, be able to do it well and easily."
Mrs Ronson. Class 4. Frinton County Primary School, Essex. Summer Term 1978

Whilst the bassline may be Kate’s first love it’s the written line that she pays the bills with. Words are Wildblood’s backbone and she enjoys a varied and interesting career as a freelance writer and journalist. Check out her CV and you’ll see it littered with respected journals, print runs and website presence. Her writing career started early with Diva Magazine and the ground-breaking www.queercompany.com. From there she developed that distinctive pert prose we’ve come to expect. Personal yet hard hitting at times Wildblood loves to tell it as it is. Her reviews respond to the feelings a tune or production bring rather than those technical trainspotter-esque nuances whilst her dark sense of irony provides a reality check of some humour. Honesty is the best policy in Wildblood’s world.

Wildblood is enoyed a stint as the scene editor for Gay Times,  and now concentrates on the news editor and columns editor for Real City Network as well as being a contributor for Gscene, Dj Mag, M Magazine, 3Sixty, Aeon Events and Big Love.

So here’s the list. Wildblood has made it onto the pages and sites of the following – and loved every word of it. Dj Magazine, Diva, Gay Times, Queer Company, Rainbow Network, Seamus Haji’s Big Love, iLabel, the PRS members magazine M, www.realcitynetwork.com, www.ibiza-voice.com, Wild Fruit, Gscene and the Itchy guides. She’s also a keen pr provider giving artists and dj’s including Seamus Haji, Pete Haywood, Goloka, Dulcie Danger, Richard Jones, Neil Duffie and Queen Josephine the benefit of her loved up word. If you want to sell the sweetness of yourself or your latest venture Wildblood will find the words.

And sometimes she’ll twist the words further as the publication of her first short story ‘Blushing’ in Red Hot Diva Books ‘Va-Va-Voom Red Hot Lesbian Erotica’ proved. Blushing indeed was the name of the game as Wildblood gained a few knowing looks for those in the know. Add her current rudeness in the form of her latest short story ‘E-asy Girl’ and you’ll soon appreciate where Wildblood comes from. If you know what we mean.

Wildblood the wordsmith is a wonder. Full stop. Whatever the subject, project or idea Wildblood runs with it. Onto the page and into your head. There really is no one in print quite like her and if you need a page-turner you know where to turn to. Wildblood. Words don’t escape her!
